Description of Role:
The Controls Technician is primarily office-based with occasional visits to the production floor and responsible for maintaining diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical/motor controls and PLC Logic to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 years experience in electrical systems controls and/or automation.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs HMIs and motor control systems
- Able to accurately read interpret and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lift/carry (10-50 lbs) and push/pull (50-300 lbs)
- Occasional bending stooping twisting handling and gripping.
- If requested able to work at elevated heights climb stairs lean over equipment and operate in confined spaces.
- Capable of working in hot cold and wet conditions
- Proficient in understanding communicating reading and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree Bachelors degree or relevant certifications in a technical field
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
What will be my Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance basic repairs troubleshooting inspections calibration modifications and upgrades on electrical and controls equipment including PLCs HMIs SCADA and motor control systems
- Support the installation and setup of new control systems and automation equipment
- Identify and resolve minor faults in control systems and recommend continuous improvements
- Maintaining inventory of tools parts and supplies needed for control system maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols when servicing control systems and electrical equipment
- Any ad hoc requests
