Position Summary:
The Middle School Woodworking Technology Teacher provides hands-on instruction introducing students to industrial skills engineering concepts and safe tool use. The teacher maintains a structured safety-focused shop environment while promoting creativity problem-solving and responsible work habits.
Responsibilities:
Teach standards-aligned industrial technology courses including woodworking basic construction measurement design and tool use
Introduce basic welding concepts emphasizing safety procedures and equipment identification
Design engaging project-based learning experiences
Teach model and consistently enforce shop safety procedures
Maintain a clean organized and safe shop environment
Assess student learning and maintain accurate records
Communicate effectively with students parents and staff
Participate in meetings professional development and school initiatives
Qualifications:
Valid state teaching license with appropriate endorsement (Industrial Technology Technology Education CTE or related area)
Knowledge of shop tools equipment and safety practices
Ability to manage a hands-on classroom with a strong emphasis on safety
