Job Summary

The College of Arts and Sciences Information Technology unit (CAS-IT) is hiring an undergraduate student employee. We provide on-site I.T. support for various College of Arts and Sciences departments and their faculty staff and labs. You may expect to gain experience with computer imaging hardware operating system and software troubleshooting network file and printer sharing Active Directory SCCM JAMF MS Remote Desktop and more.

Job Description:
- Monitor prioritize and respond to help tickets for hardware software and OS issues
- Troubleshoot software hardware and OS issues
- Assist faculty/staff with general IT problems and questions
- Image computers and install software applications
- Setup computers and equipment in offices labs etc.
- Transport equipment between buildings
- Various other duties and tasks assigned by CAS-IT staff

Pay Rate

$15.50/hour

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position candidates must:
-Have a positive customer service oriented and solution focused demeanor
-Demonstrate a history of punctuality organization discipline and drive
-Demonstrate a history of communication with your colleagues and leadership
-Demonstrate a history of responsibility for commitments
-Maintain all student employment eligibility requirements detailed at a current and working Redbird ID card
-Must be able to work summers
-Effectively communicate daily.
-Maintain Academic Good Standing as defined at:

-Have an anticipated graduation date no earlier than May 2028

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and/or interest in any of the following:
-Windows 11 & Mac OS
-Basic computer troubleshooting
-Basic understanding of computer hardware
-Use of Microsoft Office Suite

Work Hours

Primarily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
-Ability to remain at a workstation for extended periods.
-Ability to move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
-Ability to squat and crawl under objects such as desks.
-Ability to frequently lift objects up to 25 lbs. occasionally lift objects up to 40lbs.
-Ability to differentiate colors on a computer screen.
-Ability to follow any and all policies procedures or supervisor directives including but not limited to those that are health and safety related.
-Ability to be physically present in shared CAS-IT offices classrooms faculty offices and other campus facilities as needed.
-Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
