Vedder Prices Chicago office is seeking a Community & Wellness Coordinator. The Community & Wellness Coordinator is a responsible and detail-oriented professional who coordinates Vedder Price community and wellness events and initiatives. This position will also collaborate with the Director of Pro Bono Services and Engagement on VedderCares initiatives. The Community & Wellness Coordinator must have experience using social media platforms with particular focus on LinkedIn. Candidates must bring a creative and self-motivated writing talent to create compelling content and initiate new ideas for community and charitable events.
As the Community & Wellness Coordinator your job duties will include but not be limited to:
- Coordinates and administers community and wellness programs for the Firm
- Handles wellness notifications and communications
- Promotes community and wellness initiatives; answers questions and gathers feedback from employees to further initiatives and explore opportunities for programming
- Collaborates with Chief Human Resources Officer and Director of Benefits to identify cost-effective wellness programs and incentives
- Develops Firm-wide community event plans and programs
- Looks for additional programming to implement relative to community and wellness researching new ideas and content
- Assists with event logistics for community and wellness events
- Works with Office Managers to coordinate VedderCares initiatives in all Vedder offices
- Handles social media content for VedderCares community & wellness events in collaboration with Marketing team
- Monitors and updates the charity listing for Firm community events
- Handles gym memberships and processing of payments
- Coordinates employee discount programs and continues to develop same
- Coordinates flu shot program for the Firm
- Serves as back-up for payment of benefits vendor invoices
- Supports Pro Bono Committee as needed
- Handles other duties and projects as assigned
- Handles special projects as required
Skills & Competencies:
- Handles the creation and development of social media and newsletter messages as it relates to Firm-wide community and wellness events
- High level of computer savviness with ability to learn new tasks and platforms quickly
- Must have excellent oral/written communication and listening skills and have the ability to communicate across all levels inside and outside the firm; excellent customer service and diplomacy skills required
- Keen attention to detail/strict deadlines and ability to follow directions
- Strong research skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to effectively and efficiently manage and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a team player who works well with others and independently
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 2 years of experience researching and planning community & wellness events
- Professional demeanor and discretion required
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully an individual must possess strong computer skills including proficiency with the Internet LinkedIn and other social media platforms Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint
Compensation Range: $50000/yr. to $60000/yr
