About The Team

Access & Inclusion supports students with disability and/or health conditions to equitably access their studies by providing individualised support accommodations and by supporting academics to implement Universal Design for Learning within their units. Access & Inclusion sits within Access Wellbeing & Equity (AWE)a supportive studentcentred team dedicated to improving the wellbeing and success of all Murdoch University students. We provide coordinated health wellbeing and disability support and lead key equity initiatives across the University.

Your New Role!

We are seeking a collaborative and compassionate professional who is passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential. As an Accessibility Technology Officer you will play a key role in promoting accessibility and ensuring equitable access to learning environments.

In this role you will coordinate services for students with complex support needs particularly those with sensory disabilities across both facetoface and online settings. This includes managing supports such as captioning transcription Auslan interpreting and other communication services.

You will also provide highlevel administrative support including research procurement financial processing and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. While primarily coordinationfocused this role places strong emphasis on using technology to create inclusive learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with faculty professional staff students and external service providers.

  • Coordinating accessibility supports for students across a range of courses.

  • Managing payments and procurement for accessibility services.

  • Developing and delivering training for students on assistive technology.

  • Working with University staff to identify opportunities for accessibility education and training.

This Continuous Part time (33.75 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $91K $98K (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What youll bring to the role:

  • Degreequalified or with a minimum of two years relevant experience in information technology accessibility or a related field.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate prioritise and manage multiple projects and competing tasks effectively.

  • Solid understanding of educational technologies and their applications within learning environments.

  • Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated high-level digital literacy across multiple platforms (PC Mac mobile devices) including the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new IT systems and software.
