Location: Newark NJ (Onsite)
Schedule:
MondayThursday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Friday: 12:00 - 1:00 PM

Compensation: $80000$100000 (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable organized and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to manage internal non-product procurement for a growing organization.

This role is not responsible for purchasing core products. Instead it focuses on sourcing and purchasing all operational and internal needs including machinery tools equipment shop and office supplies services consumables and special requests that support daily operations.

The ideal candidate is structured detail-oriented comfortable dealing with vendors and able to take ownership of purchasing workflows from request through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Purchasing & Vendor Coordination

Manage all internal non-product purchasing needs across departments
Research prepare and process purchase orders
Handle recurring monthly and one-time purchases
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing availability delivery timelines and follow-ups
Compare pricing and identify cost-effective purchasing options

Inventory & Planning Support

Monitor internal inventory levels for supplies and equipment
Anticipate upcoming purchasing needs before shortages occur
Coordinate with departments to understand demand and forecast requirements

Process Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
Track orders deliveries and confirmations
Ensure purchasing follows company policies and approval processes
Support procurement-related projects as needed

Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience in purchasing procurement operations or a related role
Comfortable communicating with vendors via phone and email
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
Familiarity with purchasing workflows and inventory processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP or purchasing systems
Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools
Independent worker with a strong sense of ownership
