Teaching Assistant - Foundation Stage 1
Junior School Vlaskamp (JSV) is looking for an experienced full-time (32.5 hours per week 5 days) Teaching Assistant (TA) with experience in the Foundation Stage.
The successful candidate will work alongside class teachers and other teaching assistants to provide the highest standard of education. This role requires an ability to actively facilitate learning both indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather. The ideal candidate will model interactive play demonstrate excellent spoken English and exhibit a natural curiosity for learning.
The successful candidate will work from Monday to Friday during all school days. Attendance at staff meetings on Wednesday afternoons fulfilling duty obligations and willingness to contribute to the after-school activity programme will also be required.
The Role
Supporting individuals and groups both inside and outside the classroom.
Making a positive and significant contribution to teaching and learning with a clear understanding of learning opportunities and the developmental next steps for children in this age group.
Demonstrating patience a caring attitude and confidence in managing large groups of children.
Collaborating effectively with the teaching team to deliver the Foundation Stage curriculum.
Skills and experience:
A CACHE Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or higher with at least 2 years of relevant experience working with children in this age group.
Knowledge of the British curriculum EYFS Framework and Development Matters.
Experience in a teaching or teaching assistant role within Foundation Stage 1.
Fluency in English is essential with strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
Confidence in managing and engaging with large groups of young learners.
