KETV-TV Omahas News Leader has an opening for aDigital Content Internto work inour fast-paced tv newsroomteam. This internship will consist of creating and managing content for the stations digital platforms including the websiteappand social media platforms. You will be a part of a digital teamwritingarticles and creatingvideos and infographics for local news weather sports entertainment and community activities with deadlines that change with the news role is in-person 5 days a week.

Thisinternwill be part of theprogram a paid full-time 15-week internship program for neurodivergent/autistic talent interested in enhancing their technical skills. From June 2nd to September 11th 2026 interns willparticipatein an immersive hands-on experience at a leading global diversified media information and services company. This cohort will include interns at Hearst Television Fitch Ratings and Hearst Corporate.

Responsibilities

  • Help research andwritearticles so that they display correctly formatted on the appwebsiteand social media
  • Ensure the station publishes factually correct data in collaboration with reporters and assignment editors(meticulousattention to detailisneeded)
  • Regularly clip and postlocal news andweather forecast videos
  • Writetext tosupportvideos posted from the weekend
  • Learn how toquicklywrite conciseengagingandaccurateheadlines app push alerts and e-mail text that will entice our viewers to click on our articles/open the stations app
  • Monitorothermedia outlets digital and social media platforms to cultivate potential content ideas
  • Assist digital team with aspects of video production including holding the camera andor microphone during shoots


Skills


  • Can independently write edit and publish news articles on multiple deadlines
  • Experience with or interest in using content management systemssuch asUplynkand websites akin to WordPressto update websiteapp
  • Knowledge of how to create and edit images inPhotoShopfor social graphics and collages
  • Interest in or knowledge of measuring performance numbers usingGoogle Analytics

Preferred Experience

The following experiences arepreferred butnotrequired. We encourage candidates with interest in learningnew technologiesto apply even if theydontmeet all the preferences.

  • Knowledge of how to create and edit videos in Adobe will enable the applicant to repurpose video from the newscast andor photographers in the field to create short videos for social media.
  • Fast transcription skills (typing speakers comments from video sometimes live video for publishing)
  • Interest in or knowledge of measuring performance numbers using and Social News Desk
  • Experiencewith or interest informatting artificial intelligence to complete word-processing and other tasks

Qualifications

  • Experience with digital and social media strategy
  • Interest in journalism digital marketingwritingorediting
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines collaboratively with our team
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • College degree with background in journalismor communicationis desired but notrequired
