Our farm-based homeschool cooperative for students entering grades K-3 is looking for an educator to see a cohort of 8-10 children through their primary school years and beyond. The setting of our cooperative is a 25 x 96 heated greenhouse located in a 2-acre vegetable garden adjacent to miles of hiking trails and Lake Mattawa. Our goal is to instill a love for learning and the outdoors while promoting life-long healthy habits in students and their families. Students will have access to the garden to help strengthen our core value of eating healthy. Imagine your students during recess picking raspberries in the fall digging for carrots in the snow and enjoying strawberries in spring!The position is for 20 hours/week (16 hours of in-person instruction and 4 hours of paid preparation). The focus of the lead educator will be on core academic subjects; math language arts science social studies etc. Our cooperative will meet Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm during the regular academic school homeschool cooperative teacher will enjoy classroom support from a parent volunteer each day and the freedom of teaching without the hoopla of traditional school. It is our hope that our educator will be able to continue teaching this cohort in future years giving both students teacher and families the opportunity to develop long-term meaningful relationships with one another.
