The North Carolina Court of Appeals is excited to be seeking ambitiousLaw School Internsto provide administrative duties as well as legal research analysis and interpretation of case law on a variety of court cases.
This is a great opportunity for you to gain hands-on knowledge of the court system as well as learn under a Court of Appeals Judge.
Your essential duties and responsibilities as an intern include but are not limited to the following:
The internships will take place in thesummer. Ideally the session will be 14 weeks (May 11 to August 14). Willing to break it up if needed into 7 weeks (May 11 to June 26 or June 29 to August 14).
We are seeking 3-4 summer interns.
The ideal candidates will be dynamic articulate organized and eager to learn.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Knowledge of: NC General Statutes; NC Rules of Appellate Procedure; NC Supreme Court and Court of Appeals case law; NC Rules of Appellate and Civil Procedure; and some federal statutes and case law.
Skills in: Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
Ability to: conduct legal research and analysis; draft appellate opinions; and comprehend abstract legal concepts.

Must be currently enrolled at an ABA accredited law school.
