Summary of Work
Key Internship Experiences
This position will provide a hands-on opportunity to join our Bridge Inspection team and spend your summer out in the field while traveling across North Dakota. You will gain real-world engineering and bridge experience. As a Bridge Inspector intern youll assist experienced inspectors in evaluating bridges and structures while learning how critical infrastructure is maintained.
What Youll Do:
- Assist professional inspectors with bridge inspections across North Dakota
- Spend most days in the field traveling to different towns and rural areas. Some overnight stays will be required.
- Help collect data measurements and photos.
- Learn how to identify structural components materials and common types of deterioration.
- Support documentation and reporting of inspection findings.
- Assist the Bridge Management team in the office with coding bridge inventory data and reviewing inspection information.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be enrolled in an engineering technology or civil/construction engineering undergraduate degree program the fall of 2026 semester.
Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds.
Possession of a valid Class D Drivers License for travel within the state of North Dakota.
Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process reference check and successful completion of a job function screening.
