We the Payments tech team at Zooplus are looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to take a central role in shaping the technical vision and implementation of our end-to-end payment this role you will be the technical cornerstone of the team bridging the gap between complex business requirements and robust architectural solutions. You will collaborate closely with product owners and architects to build a resilient scalable payment infrastructure that ensures a seamless experience for millions of customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the design and implementation of highly scalable backend systems and services.
- Own key technical decisions and define the long-term architectural direction for the payments domain.
- Partner with frontend product and DevOps teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
- Set and maintain high standards for code quality system performance and maintainability.
- Act as a technical reference point for the team fostering growth through design discussions pairing and high-impact code reviews.
- Influence development best practices and help the team evolve its engineering maturity.
- Contribute directly to the codebase as a senior individual contributor while overseeing system-wide integrations. Champion DevOps practices focusing on CI/CD automation cloud scalability (AWS) and proactive monitoring.

Qualifications :
- 8 years in professional software development with a proven track record of taking technical responsibility for complex projects or subsystems.
- Deep expertise in the Java ecosystem (Java 17 and Spring Boot) including JVM internals and performance optimization.
- Strong experience in designing distributed microservices architectures that are scalable secure and fault-tolerant.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Kubernetes and Terraform with the ability to define infrastructure patterns for the team.
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases schema design and maintaining data integrity in distributed environments.
- A strong advocate for Clean Architecture TDD and BDD; experience defining comprehensive testing strategies.
- Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills especially in articulating technical decisions.
- An strong drive for documentation and organization
