Embedded Software Engineer

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will join our Loughborough team to develop and implement embedded software for advanced test and control systems. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to model simulate and deliver embedded software solutions that drive reliable and efficient test execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop implement and maintain embedded software using Embedded C for test and control systems.
• Model simulate and validate system behaviour using MATLAB/Simulink to support embedded software design.
• Collaborate with hardware and test teams to integrate embedded software with system-level architectures.
• Produce clear and detailed software documentation including design specifications test plans and validation reports.
• Troubleshoot debug and optimise embedded code to ensure reliable system performance.
• Support continuous improvement in embedded software processes coding standards and simulation methodologies.
• Ensure software aligns with project requirements timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in embedded software development using Embedded C.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and simulation of embedded systems.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong debugging problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience producing high-quality technical documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Exposure to real-time systems or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• Experience in automotive aerospace or energy systems embedded software.
• Knowledge of software lifecycle processes for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with communication protocols data acquisition or control systems.
