At Garden Spot Village our Grill Cooksprovide high-quality meals prepared and served safely meeting the nutritional needs and preferences of residents. This role ensures proper food handling sanitation and service while supporting campus events and dining operations.
What Youll Do
- Comply with established policies procedures and standards including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct
- Follow Residents Rights policies at all times
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information conditions and family matters
- This is a front facing position where the Grill Cook is directly in front of customers. Must be able to maintain composure during busy times while communicating effectively with guests.
- The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality grilled menu items for residents guests and staff in a senior living community. This role focuses on consistency food safety and resident satisfaction while supporting a warm hospitality-driven dining experience.
- Prepare and cook grilled items such as burgers chicken seafood and rotating weekly special items according to recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe grill station before during and after service
- Support all Dining Services restaurants and campus events
- Follow recipes and product directions for preparing seasoning cooking tasting carving and serving soups meats vegetables desserts and other food items
- Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures
- Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
- Participate in regular safety meetings safety training and hazard assessments
- Receive inventory move and lift foodstuffs and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets
What Were Looking For
- Ability to work closely with others in a cooperative spirit
- Identify with and promote the Mission and Philosophy of Garden Spot Village
- Knowledge of cooking procedures and large quantity recipes
- Ability to prepare and serve food according to menus and recipes
- Willingness to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs
- Demonstrates initiative and professionalism
- Graduation from a food-related course (ServSafe) helpful
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with employees residents and the general public in a friendly and professional manner
- Must work scheduled weekends and holidays
- May be required to work irregular schedules on short notice
Additional Information
This position is every other weekend 10:00am - 7:00pm with every other holiday rotation.
