RSM is looking for a dynamic experienced M&A tax professional to join our national Mergers andAcquisitions (M&A) Tax is a rapidly growing tax advisory practice with significant growth opportunities. We advise multinational corporations privately held companies partnerships and private equity firms on the tax aspects of planning structuring and executing M&A transactions.
This position within RSMs M&A Tax practice will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around three core concepts: Technical & Quality Expertise People & Talent Management and Client Service/Business Development.
Work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due diligence and tax structuring services and communicate findings and opportunities to clients
Lead Canadian tax due diligence engagements including reviewing targets historic tax profile planning tax examinationacquisition/dispositionand filing history to assess potential risks and opportunities; prepare/review tax due diligence reports
Assist with various tax advisory engagements including buy-side and sell-side structuring domestic reorganizations sale planning cross-border planning evaluating structures for tax efficiency modelling transaction scenarios etc.
Work with and assist other members of the M&A Tax practice with various technical tax issues demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts and apply tax knowledge to client situations
Work with other service lines (domestic and international) as well as external advisors on various M&A engagements
Maintain high-level client relationships provide support and contribute to various business initiatives
Develop motivate and train staff and senior level team members
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a related field
CPA or equivalentrequired; CPA in-depth tax program and/or advanced CPA in-depth courses
8-10 years of experience in a public accounting firm a corporate tax department preferably within M&A tax
Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries accounting and financial reporting
Ability to manage multiple complex engagements and deliver timely high-quality work.
Strong writing analytical research excel and organizational skills
Strong communication presentation project management and business development skills

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including but not limited to education skills work experience certifications location etc. As such pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $119000 - $202000Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
