TITLE: EL MATH SKILLS ACCELERATION TUTOR - GR 8-10
POSITION SUMMARY:
This program is designed to help accelerate content and language acquisition for English Learner Students in grade 8-10 by offering tutoring support during the school day that connects to core curriculum andthe prerequisitemath skills and the language of math needed to accessgrade level standards and beyond. The focusof this tutoring will be in Pre-Algebra and Algebra I courses (as a support) and in small groups for foundationalmath skill/prerequisite skill development.
PROGRAM DATES: Spring Semester: February 2 2026 - June 5 2026 (18 weeks)
4 or 5 days out of the 7 day cycle not to exceed 2 hours per day
over45 days
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborate with course educator to facilitate instruction
2. Select appropriate math lessons (from already curated resources) based on student data that are culturally and linguistically sustaining honoring students assets prior knowledge and full linguistic repertoirefor reteach and review in small groups
3. Engage students in skill practice and demonstration of learning and use of target language
4. Differentiate instructionfor EL students of variousproficiency levels
5. Supervise students during small group instruction
6. Document learning experiences for small groupinstruction (bulleted objectives) on template provided by the EL Director
7. Share student progress with EL Director and course educators bi-weekly
8. Followall applicable school rules
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. MA Educator Licensureplus SEI Endorsement and/or ESL Licensurepreferred
SALARY: $33 per hour subject to grant funding
