The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Staff Pharmacist - Inpatient (Pharmacist 2).
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-Time / 40 hours per week
Evening Shifts
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Be responsible for performing and supervising the dispensing functions in the Inpatient IV Admixture and Satellite Pharmacies
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct a thorough patient profile review to assess the appropriateness of the prescribed medication including monitoring for drug duplications interactions allergies appropriate dose strength and route of administration at the time each order is received; document relevant information in medical record as required.
Promote rational cost-effective drug therapy by promoting the use of formulary items and optimizing patient care through appropriate selection of treatment options.
Direct pharmacy technicians in all areas of technical responsibilities.
Provide drug information to patients physicians nurses and other members of the health care team.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in pharmacy practice or completion of an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited residency training program.
