Salary: Starting Salary is 51356 (Level one) rising to 54495 (Level four) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the Role

As our Deputy Data Protection Officer you will be at the heart of ensuring council-wide compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 shaping best practice and embedding a culture of robust information governanceinterpretinglegislation andadvising on mitigatingcompliance lead on delivering expert data protection advice internally including advice on DPIAs ISAs data processing complex subject access requests and high-risk data breaches.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Significant senior level data protection experience in a large multifaceted organisation

A deep understanding of UK GDPR DPA 2018 PECR FOI EIR ICO guidance.

Proven ability to manage a high workload

Very clear written and verbal communication skills

Strong judgement and independence able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject plus a practitioner-level professional qualification.

Line management and supervision of data protection staff
