Maintenance Supervisor

Manufacturing / Recycling Facility
Days Monday - Friday
West Indianapolis

Key Duties

Supervising Maintenance department with up to 55 Technicians on multiple shifts
Assigns duties per weekly work schedule to extent possible while still supporting critical plant equipment.
Examines work for exactness neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances; initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals including the recommendation of training where there are opportunities to improve skills.
Implements work procedures to meet production schedules and to keep mechanical systems operating.
Orders materials necessary to complete work orders efficiently and at lowest cost
Complies with all environmental health safety and housekeeping programs.
Participate in JTE team activities as assigned to represent Maintenance Department
Coach employees in Lean Manufacturing rules and principles through leading by example
Initiates the creation of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) to install consistency with direct reports

Qualifications Preferred

High school diploma.
2 years maintenance supervisory or lead-man experience in industrial environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Environmental training applicable to the job
Safety training for applicable equipment
Job instructional training
Quality system familiarization
ISO 14001 and 9001 awareness EMS objectives and targets plant significant environmental impacts
OHSAS 45001 Awareness OH&S-MS Objectives and Goals Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control

Please Note:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions toxic or caustic chemicals risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in some areas of the work environment requires ear protection. Employee must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
