Timing & Event IT Operations Manager (mfd)

HYROX is a global sports event series that combines running and functional fitness training in a unique race format. Founded in Germany in 2017 HYROX has evolved into a worldwide fitness movement with events across five continents attracting tens of thousands of athletes every season.

As our Timing & Event IT Operations Manager (d/w/m) you are the guardian of the clock and the network. You oversee the technical backbone of our eventsfrom the starting gun to the finish line. You lead on-site teams manage complex logistics and ensure that our timekeeping systems (Race Result) and IT networks (Ubiquiti/Peplink) are fail-safe. You dont just watch screens you build the infrastructure that makes the race possible.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Operations & System Reliability

• The Heartbeat: Ensure accurate timekeeping and smooth IT system performance during live HYROX events.
• Network Master: Deploy and manage commercial-grade networking hardware (Peplink Ubiquiti). You perform troubleshooting instantly when it counts.
• Uptime: Monitor systems proactively minimize downtime and coordinate repairs/preventive maintenance for our equipment fleet.

Team Leadership & Project Management

• On-Site Lead: Lead motivate and train timing teams and freelancers at events domestically and internationally.
• Training: Provide hands-on training on IT systems tools and event procedures to ensure a high-performance culture.
• Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in workflowsmaking our setup faster lighter and more resilient.

Staffing Logistics & Equipment

• The Gear: Plan logistics for all timing/IT equipment including procurement international transport customs clearance and setup.
• Inventory: Oversee inventory management to ensure every cable and transponder is ready for the next race.
• People Planning: Develop staff schedules and coordinate with internal teams to ensure we have the right talent on the ground.

YOUR PROFILE

• Background: Bachelors degree in IT Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: Proven track record in managing IT systems preferably in a live event or sports environment.
• Tech Stack: Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN/WiFi). Experience with Race Result software/hardware is a massive plus. Familiarity with Peplink and Ubiquiti is highly desired.
• Leadership: You can lead a team when the pressure is on and the clock is ticking.
• Logistics: You are organized. You know how to get sensitive equipment from A to B across borders.
• Mindset: You stay calm when technology acts up. You are a problem solver.
• Language: Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to our global events.
