Job Summary:
The GMS Applications Engineer supports the Market Management Systems (MMS) applications portfolio including Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) Day-Ahead Market (DAM) Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) and QSE Training Simulator. The role involves design development testing validation and implementation of modifications and enhancements to MMS applications. The engineer will work under the direction of a senior engineer or supervisor/manager and may provide guidance to lower-level workers.

Responsibilities:
- Understand and apply principles theories and concepts related to the profession.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
- Work under the direction of a senior engineer or supervisor/manager to complete departmental goals.
- Perform work according to applicable rules and regulations.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for market applications and system issues.
- Assist in proactive enhancements improvements and issue remediation.
- Coordinate application setup and testing with QSEs LSEs and REs as appropriate.
- Perform MMS model load testing and update model data in real-time.
- Design and test MMS interfaces and web & client/server application changes.
- Verify and support MMS applications during system site failovers server/system/database upgrades and patching.
- Support the execution of Disaster Recovery Drills and business continuity procedures.
- Maintain troubleshoot and repair MMS applications and interfaces escalating as needed.
- Provide on-the-job training or oversee the work of other engineers/analysts.
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert in projects affecting MMS environments.
- Participate in multifunctional teams to obtain input and provide application support.
- Represent the Market Applications Engineering Team at meetings.
- Develop tools processes and procedures that enhance system reliability and departmental efficiencies.
- Participate with other departments to select and implement system changes.
- Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert for the department.
- Serve as a Technical Lead for MMS portfolio projects.
- Test Non-Functional requirements of MMS application changes and coordinates with database/infrastructure teams to perform the tests.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and industry best practices.
