SQL Server DBA (Always On, Performance Tuning, BackupRecovery – Cloud & Cohesity)

Job Title: SQL Server DBA (Always On Performance Tuning Backup/Recovery Cloud & Cohesity)

Location: Atlanta GA (Hybrid) - Local Candidates Only)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

• Manage all aspects of physical SQL Server database administration including schema management security setup installation upgrades patching backup and recovery space management performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Support application teams by enhancing troubleshooting and performance tuning databases across multiple projects.
• Administer SQL Server databases across Production Test and Development environments including support within Microsoft SharePoint farms.
• Install upgrade configure test and deploy complex SQL Server environments including Always On High Availability configurations.
• Develop implement and maintain database backup and recovery plans and procedures.
• Monitor database performance and recommend tuning strategies and application improvements.
• Implement user authentication and enforce database security protocols across systems.
• Review system designs and participate in the development of new database solutions.
• Modify database structures and deploy schema changes to meet evolving business requirements.
• Develop and maintain scripts for batch data loads and operational job automation.
• Support database migration initiatives and ensure minimal downtime during transitions.
• Utilize Cohesity Backup Appliance for database backup and recovery operations.
• Apply cloud technology best practices and governance related to database environments.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• Extensive hands-on administrative experience with SQL Server RDBMS.
• Strong experience managing backup recovery and high-availability database environments.
• Proven expertise in SQL Server database development tuning optimization and T-SQL programming.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server clustered environments and Microsoft operating systems.
• Advanced SQL querying and scripting skills for automation and operational efficiency.
• In-depth knowledge and implementation experience with Always On High Availability Groups.
• Demonstrated experience in SQL Server database migrations.
• Strong experience in database space management storage design and capacity planning following industry best practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with technical teams business stakeholders and management.
• Experience creating entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) database documentation data dictionaries and system architecture artifacts.

• Working knowledge of Cohesity Backup Appliance.
• Experience working in cloud-based database environments and adhering to cloud governance standards.
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale database environments supporting mission-critical applications.
• Experience supporting databases integrated with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in performance-intensive database environments.
