Job Description:
- Possess a SECRET security clearance within 12 months of hire.
- Experience including supervision of contractors personnel; analysis design and installation of local and wide area networks; and analysis and installation of communications systems.
- Familiar with engineering documentation network configurations and topologies.
- Organizes and directs network installations on site surveys.
- Assesses and documents current site network configurations.
- Directs and leads preparation of engineering plans and site installation technical design packages. Develops installation schedules.
- Mobilizes network installation team.
- Directs and leads preparation of drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.
- Prepares site installation and test reports. Coordinates post-installation operations and maintenance support.

- Experience with DoD National Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA)/Telecommunications Industry
- Association (TIA) BICSI and OSHA safety standards. General knowledge of operating principles of wired wireless and RF environments.
- Wireless network (802.11b/g/a/n WLAN/WWAN/WMAN).
- survey/deployment/support experience is preferred.
- Possess a general knowledge of wired/wireless equipment installation and basic testing methods and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and perform tasks outlined in vendor documentation technical specifications and network practices engineering letters and job aids.
- Dexterity to connect and disconnect various sizes and types of electronic connectors.
- Ability to work in overhead rack or grid for extended periods of time pulling long lengths of heavy cables.
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs independently and up to 90 lbs. with assistance as necessary.
- Ability to climb ladders and steep staircases including scissor lifts. Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments.
Minimum Experience:
- Five (5) years of cabling experience in data communications industry
- Must have Aeiral lift training
- Must have Confined Space training
- Must have Forklift training
- Must have ten (10) Hour OSHA Basic Industry course
- Must be able to install cable infrastructure communications equipment and materials Ethernet and fiber
- cabling to include termination and testing as well as installing/removing overhead equipment mounts.
Required Skills:
- Active BICSI Technician Installer certification
Other Certifications:
- BICSI Level 1 and / or Level 2 copper and fiber as required. DoD Approved 8140
- Baseline Certification within 12 months of the 8140 requirements fully vetted and clearly identified.
