Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.

We are hiring Oncology Liaison Nurse into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological emotional and informational support to cancer patients from diagnosis through treatment across inpatient units day services and hospital-wide referrals.

  • Support families and significant others through listening education problem-solving and advocacy.

  • Deliver outreach support to patients at home and assess the need for referral to specialist and support services.

  • Act as the central liaison for oncology patients ensuring all referred patients are seen and supported appropriately.

  • Coordinate attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings ensuring accurate case submission and follow-up.

  • Maintain comprehensive accurate and timely clinical documentation on Meditech including all patient and family interactions and treatment plan changes.

  • Demonstrate specialist oncology knowledge and clinical expertise while working within hospital policies procedures and scope of practice.

  • Actively contribute to the development implementation and review of oncology policies procedures and nursing guidelines.

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients including providing uncomplicated test results and education throughout the care pathway.

  • Coordinate genetic testing molecular profiling and OncoType testing including consent database management follow-up and result dissemination.





  • Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

  • Higher Diploma in Oncology Nursing.

  • Masters qualification in Oncology Nursing.

  • Minimum of five years post-registration nursing experience.

  • At least three years experience in medical oncology.

  • Evidence of management or leadership development.

  • Excellent communication time management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently manage a caseload.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and initiate and manage change.

  • Strong IT and computer skills.

  • Qualification in teaching and assessing in clinical practice.

  • Experience in research or evidence-based practice activities.
