General Purpose
The Communications Coordinator plays a central role in how our organization communicatesexternally with donors partners and the community and internally with our Team Members.
The primary focus of this position is managing email communications coordinating internal messaging and supporting media outreach. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with exceptional attention to detail who enjoys turning information into clear effective messages in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications or their delegate and works closely with Development Programs and Leadership.
Essential Duties
Manage all outbound email communications for donor outreach events and seasonal campaigns
Coordinate all internal communications to ensure Team Members receive timely clear and consistent information
Prepare press releases and key messages throughout the year
Coordinate basic media outreach and support relationships with local outlets
Maintain a high standard of accuracy tone and brand alignment across all communications
Supporting Responsibilities
Provide promotional resources to Clubs and communities (brochures donor materials social media assets flyers banners signage etc.)
Support storytelling by collecting testimonials photos and program highlights
Maintain proper contact lists for email communications
Maintain and update the organizations website copy
Create basic graphics using Canva and other design tools
Track communication and marketing metrics (email performance social engagement etc.) and assist with reporting
Support internal tools such as SharePoint sites and contact directories
Assist with the development and implementation of brand standards
Qualifications & Skills
Two years of experience in public relations communications and/or marketing
Exceptional attention to detail and strong writing skills
Experience with Constant Contact or a similar email marketing platform
Strong organizational and project management skills
Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Canva experience preferred
Background in journalism public relations or communications strongly preferred
Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization is a plus

Applicants must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Sufficient strength agility and mobility to perform essential functions and support events or program activities
Requires the ability to walk sit stand bend squat push/pull and grasp for up to 48 hours per day
The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate
