The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is a unit of University Research Services & Administration (URSA) under the Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development. OSP is dedicated to facilitating research excellence at GSU. We provide comprehensive support and assistance throughout the grant lifecycle from proposal submission to the management and closeout of sponsored projects. Our team works closely with faculty department administrators and administrative staff across the university to ensure compliance and maximize the impact of research at GSU.
The Office of Sponsored Programs at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Research Finance Officer (Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This position is responsible for establishing sponsored awards in the financial system according to award guidelines and specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual bills and invoices.
Ensure proper documentation of required cost sharing.
Reconcile accounts to the General Ledger & the awarded budget or contracted rates.
Monitor assigned projects for expenditure review financial compliance with applicable Federal State and university laws policies and procedures and recommend appropriate solutions to maintain compliance.
Review monthly accounts receivable and aged receivables. Communicate with sponsors regarding uncollectible amounts and assist in resolution of accounts receivables.
Prepares and submits quarterly annual and final financial reports as specified in award documents or contracts. Completes project closeout activities.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in accounting and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Masters degree in accounting.
Accounting education background multi-tasking abilities and customer service skills.
Word Excel PeopleSoft Spectrum.
