Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and energetic Service Porter to join our dealerships service department. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the service department by managing the movement and organization of customer vehicles in and out of the service area assisting technicians and maintaining a clean and orderly service lot. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with a strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Movement: Safely move customer vehicles between the service bays service reception and the dealership lot.
Lot Organization: Maintain an organized clean and safe service area. Ensure vehicles are properly parked and easily accessible for technicians and customers.
Customer Interaction: Greet customers assist with vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups and provide courteous service when vehicles are ready.
Support Technicians: Help technicians by delivering vehicles to and from service bays assist with minor vehicle movements and ensure that vehicles are properly staged for service.
Vehicle Delivery and Pickup: Ensure vehicles are delivered to customers on time and in clean condition parked in a designated pickup area.
Cleanliness & Safety: Keep the service lot clean and orderly including clearing debris washing windows and removing any obstacles that could hinder the movement of vehicles. May occasionally be required to wash vehicles as needed.
Assist with Miscellaneous Tasks: Help with vehicle check-ins move loaner vehicles and assist with any other tasks required to support the service team.
Availability: Be available at all times to move vehicles or help in any situation that arises to ensure the smooth operation of the service department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to drive various types of vehicles including manual and automatic transmissions.
Good communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and team members.
Physical ability to lift push or pull up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Work Environment:
Automotive service department with interaction between service technicians service advisors and customers.
Exposure to outdoor elements depending on weather conditions.
Occasional lifting bending and standing for extended periods.
