Dignity Health Medical Group Dominican a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation is committed to serving the continuing health care needs of Santa Cruz County. Supported by the rich community history Dominican Hospital our doctors provide convenient personalized care to patients throughout the region along the full continuum of care. We operate 18 clinics in Santa Cruz County and feature more than 100 providers with specialties including pediatrics oncology and hematology plastic and reconstructive surgery gastroenterology OB/GYN urology physical medicine and rehabilitation and urgent care. Santa Cruz County is 70 miles south of San Francisco and boasts great surf sandy beaches redwood-covered mountains and more.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Office Representative II you will serve as the initial point of contact for our valued patients expertly coordinating all referrals and authorizations to ensure seamless access to care.
Every day you will deliver excellent customer service through clear and empathetic communications efficiently managing phone calls and distributing messages to the appropriate personnel. You will also adeptly handle patient requests for referrals and authorizations ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
To be successful in this role you will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills a strong commitment to patient satisfaction and a meticulous approach to administrative tasks. You will be a proactive team member comfortable navigating various patient requests and contributing to a positive and efficient clinic environment.
- Consistently demonstrates customer service expectations as outlined in the Dignity Health Medical Foundation audit tools.
- Consistently makes eye contact and smiles.
- Demonstrates active listening with positive can do attitude.
- Consistently respectful concerned and shows empathy.
- Uses scripted greeting. Thank you for choosing this is (your name) how can I help you
- Uses scripted closing at every interaction. Is there anything else I can do for you Over the phone and as patients leave the clinic.
Job Requirements
- High School Graduate General Studies upon hire
- High School GED General Studies upon hire and
- Experience using other types of standard office
Preferred
- Six (6) months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist or
- an equivalent amount of experience in a high-volume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeries. and
- Experience in billing. and
- Experience with multi-line phones/ACD phones
