Job Summary
Northern Southland Transport is part of Trojan Holdings Ltd which is a family owned and operated business. We have extensive interests in transport tourism and commercial property throughout Central Otago and are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to support our managers and help drive continued improvement in our safety culture. This is a great opportunity for an energetic safety professional especially if they have a passion for the transport responsibilities would include;Working alongside operational teams to ensure effective risk management processes are in place including the development of risk mitigation regular risk assessments are conducted and review incident reports and near-miss events to identify areas of delivery of H&S training programs to ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe management and staff are regularly updated on H&S best practices emerging risks and relevant legal and implement the findings from audits inspections and safety performance employee engagement and involvement in H&S initiatives to encourage ownership and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to health safety and well-being outcomes and report findings to a culture of continuous improvement in H&S management through innovation and adopting new safety is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys being out in the field at the coalface. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the transport industry and an affinity with the rural sector is a must.
