DIVISION: ByWard Clinic Management (BCM)

JOB STATUS: Contract (1 year Part-Time; 10-15 hours/week)

JOB REPORTS TO: Executive Director BWFHT

RATE: Fee for Service; 75% Consulting Fee

ByWard Clinic Management (BCM) operates a busy clinic and offers a comprehensive range of primary and specialized health care services to patients registered with a family physician. We are committed to delivering timely quality and collaborative assessment treatment and health promotion in a supportive and caring environment that is open and transparent to social ethnic and income factors.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a specialized travel medicine consultant to join our comprehensive primary health care team. The travel medicine consultant focuses on providing in-person consultations to patients. You will be responsible to teach counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families following the travel medicine guidelines. You will provide safe quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of ByWard Family Health Team.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Staff are expected to work in a professional manner demonstrating above average qualities such as courtesy tact and judgment with respect to patients fellow colleagues and professionals. All staff are expected to work in parallel with the organizations confidentiality agreement. As a member of our team you are responsible for bringing issues that affect the smooth operation of the organization to the attention of your immediate supervisor. It is your responsibility to be up to date with all organizational communication.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing or Diploma in Practical Nursing

  • Current registeration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

  • 1 years work experience in travel medicine

  • Current ACLS CPR and First Aid certification Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)

  • Updated Immunization Records that include: 2 Step TB (within 6 months) Measles Rubella and Varicella and Tuberculosis. Prophylaxis immunization of Hepatitis B is strongly encouraged

  • Experience in administration of medication

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that include verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients seniors and families.

  • Effective skills in critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team.

  • Efficient decision-making and problem-solving abilities

  • Willing and ready to work flexible hours

  • Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Please note that related education/experience bilingualism and the ability to work in a fully paperless environment (EMR) are essential qualifications for this position.
