Ongoing role at Mackay Wellbeing CentreWeekdays - MorningsMust be able to commit to at least one shift per week on a regular basis (minimum of 4 hours)Please list your times and days of availability on the application formWhy choose to volunteer with Red CrossYou can help improve lives and create a positive impact in your communityIts an opportunity to enhance your skills & knowledge & gain new experiencesYoull be helping Red Cross to support vulnerable people across AustraliaThe programThe Red Cross Wellbeing Centres are accommodation facilities located in Townsville Mackay and Rockhampton allowing people to rest and recuperate while receiving medical treatment or caring for/visiting loved ones from some of the remote parts of North Queensland. The Centre provides safe and affordable opportunityFor this role you will need good communication skills and attention to detail. The ability to effectively conduct all cleaning duties as required using the provided equipment cleaning products and tools. The ability to relate to and empathise with a broad range of people including those with different lived experiences abilities and Cross will ensure you have training ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the worlds largest humanitarian impactAs a volunteer you will help assist the vulnerable in the community to ensure they feel safe. We demonstrate connection by listening empathising and providing them with a friendly voice and a person to go to for assistance with their stay. Application requirementsFor this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check which will be organized through Red CrossYou will need to provide a recent copy of your resume and provide details for two professional referencesThe role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working with Children Check.
