Job summary: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence courage and competence to achieve their dreams contribute to community and engage in a lifetime of learning by assisting the supplemental teacher in providing educational services in the areas of reading and math to children identified as Title 1 students.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

• Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment setting up physical education equipment preparing and setting up art supplies.
• Provide supervision duringrecess and/or cafeteria times.
• Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills e.g. math science English color recognition decision making self-esteem building etc.
• Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art physical education dramatics.
• Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems e.g. separate math skill worksheet not a part of teachers curriculum.
• Type worksheets tests or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
• Basic knowledge of iPads Chromebooks and Google Suite
• Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
• Participation in district training program prior to and during employment.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Applicants must be Highly Qualified-Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
  • Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesotas standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
  • An Associates (or higher) degree; Minnesotas standard: An AA AS AAS (or higher) degree OR
  • Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.

• Persons employed shall have the skills needed to perform tasks and work with children staff and parents.
• Must have physical capability to lift and attend to physical needs of students as required.

Salary: View Classification I and IIsalary grid on page 4 section 1 and classification page 5 section 2 on Educational Support Professional contract
Work schedule:6 hours/day (5.5hours/day Title I); 0.5hours/day Clerical);5 days/week
