The Energy Specialist is a key contributor to the development and execution of global energy procurement strategies and solutions. This role supports the design deployment and continuous improvement of procurement capabilities that drive operational efficiency cost savings and sustainability. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of energy markets data analytics and process optimization and is capable of leading cross-functional initiatives that align with business goals.
This position is recognized within the Division as a leader in energy management with superior knowledge and experience. The incumbents are responsible for applying their technical knowledge and experience to drive communication collaboration problem solving and execution among a community of technical experts from inside and outside the company.
At this level individuals are expected to develop awareness of commercial aspects of procurement to help make strategic sourcing recommendations in support of the cost quality and velocity objectives of the commodity. Developing skills to build long-term external relationships with suppliers as well as internal relationships with business unit customers are also expected. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this job function.
A major function of this position includes adoption of new supplier capabilities and industry technologies to lower cost and improve the quality and reliability of energy supplies to Caterpillar addition this position requires the capability understanding of supplier development supplier performance management global leverage through category energy strategy management and enterprise supply network optimization.
Individuals at this level are expected to operate in cross-functional teams with minimum supervision to sell and implement such ideas. Additionally this position provides subject matter expert consulting to Caterpillar Governmental Affairs Environmental Health & Safety Sustainable Development and Electric Power Division personnel.

Summary Pay Range:
