Key Responsibilities
- Quantity Take-offs: Create detailed itemized material estimates from owner/contractor plan sets according to project specifications.
- Technical Analysis: Research plans to identify special material requirements and ensure all supplied materials meet engineering standards.
- Project Monitoring: Track addenda and design changes throughout the bidding process updating estimates accordingly.
- Collaboration: Partner with clients engineers and internal teams to define project scope and achieve department goals.
- Deadline Management: Work independently to ensure all bids and tasks are completed accurately by the stated due dates.
Required Skills & Experience
- Industry Expertise: 5 years of experience in estimating or bid preparation (or 2 years with an MA/MS).
- Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in process piping for water wastewater or industrial facilities is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and mastery of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Education: Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
Work Environment & Travel
- Flexibility: Primarily office-based or remote-capable; frequent opportunity for movement.
Travel: Occasional overnight travel (less than 10%) may be required.
