Job Summary

SUMMARY:

If youre a relationship-driven sales pro who thrives outside the office this could be your lane. Our Appleton WI branch is looking for a Loan Originator who loves connecting with people building referral partnerships and being active in the this role youll spend most of your time out in the field meeting with real estate partners attending events and guiding clients through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. Youll focus on generating and managing loan opportunities while partnering with an internal team that supports the process so you can stay focused on what you do best selling advising and growing your book of business.

Through his or her Outside Sales the Loan Originator will obtain mortgage loan applications and then partner with processors to ensure complete and compliant loan packages. Processors are made available by WMC to allow the Loan Originator to be primarily engaged in Outside Sales addition to Processors Loan Originators can work within a mortgage team to complete high volumes of loan loan team members can include Loan Partner I Loan Partner II and Loan Partner III. Please refer to LP descriptions for further information. Once again these partnerships are intended to allow the Loan Originator to be primarily engaged in Outside Sales activities. Although team responsibilities& dutiescan be shared the Loan Originator will be seen as the main lending representative andbe responsible forthe sales relationship with the customer.

The Loan Originator is exempt from minimum wage requirements undertheoutsidesalespersonexemption. The Loan Originator is paid based on commissions and draws (advances) againstanticipatedfuture commissions asset forth inthe Loan Originator Employment Agreement. The Loan Originator Employment Agreement governs the relationship between the Loan Originator and WMC and to the extent it is inconsistent with this Job Description the Employment Agreement controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Is primarily engagedin Outside Sales includingbut not limited to:
  • Attendingin-person meetings and corresponding with potentialclients or real estatebrokers;
  • Attending or hosting networkingcommunityand/or home buyerevents;
  • Attending openhouses;
  • Otherwisetraveling throughout the communityto generateleads andbuild andmaintainhis or her sales pipeline.
  • Distributes mailings makescalls or web-based solicitations away from WMCs Place of Business.
  • Engages in promotional work that is performedincidentalto and in conjunction with an employees own outside sales orsolicitations;provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs.
  • Identifiesand analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospectsfor loan originations; follows up with prospects including scheduling meetings away from WMCs Place of Business.
  • Maintainsminimum production requirementsregarding WMCs products and servicesin accordance withBranch/Corporate policy.
  • Interviews applicants and requests information for applications incidental to originating the assistance of processors or other staff completes applications in a timely manner and inputs applicantdata into Encompass.
  • With theassistanceof processors or other staff orders credit reports and AUS findings on secondary market loans through the loan origination system (automated underwriting systems).
  • Analyzes applicants financialstatus;includingfinancial statements tax returns credit and property evaluations (PL Statements)incidental to originating loanstodeterminefeasibility of granting credit.
  • Corresponds withandinterviews applicants or creditors throughoutloanorigination process toresolve questionsregardingapplication information.
  • Compiles loan packages andfacilitatesnegotiations with applicants toestablishstandards on items such as fees loan repaymentoptionsand other credit terms.
  • Abides by Corporate Policy and/or Federal Regulation guidelines when discussing productstime frames and sensitive customer or bank information.
  • RepresentsWMCat related functions away fromWMCsPlace of includes presentingproduct policy and procedure information.
  • Obtainsverifiesand completes required information and documentation necessary for compliance and processing of loan applications.
  • Follows up with requests presented by both customers ofWMCand internal departmentsin a timely manner including assistingcustomers with inquiries and information requestsand resolvingcomplaints relating to loan products and services offered.
  • The Loan Originator is expected to enlist theassistanceof Processors and/or other staff to complete certain tasks to allow the Loan Originator to be primarily engaged in Outside Sales activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty requirements listed below are representativeof the knowledge skill andability be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential individual must be able to work before and after normal businesshours andhaveaccommodationsfor local bein accordance withWMCs Vehicle Safety Policy.Additionalrequirements include registration with Nationwide/National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) prior to originating loans.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:A highschool diploma or general education degree (GED)isrequired.

COMPUTER SKILLS:Intermediate knowledge of related computer applications such as Microsoft experience with Encompass or other closing software programsisrequired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Good grammar and diction are read andcomprehendinstructions writecorrespondenceand write memorandums is effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization isrequired.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals is to compute rate ratio to interpret individual and business/corporate tax returns and P-L lending functions on a standard HP calendaris preferred.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS:Usingexcellent customer service skills which includes maintaining a good attitude taking ownership of meeting customer needs goingabove and beyondfor customers demonstrating a commitment to sharpening skills through education and training using positive communication and looking for opportunities to respect customers time and schedules is required.

REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists interpret a variety of instructionsfurnishedin written oral diagram or schedule form isrequired.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:Federal registration through Nationwide MortgageLicensing System (NMLS) must be in good standing with or be approved by NMLSin accordance withthe S.A.F.E Act.
