Job Summary

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University Singapore in partnership with Imperial College London LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The Schools primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical August 2024 we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine with an emphasis on technology data science and the humanities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation of brand strategy to reinforce LKCMedicines identity and reputation locally and internationally. Safeguard and enhance brand messaging across all platforms.

  • Lead outreach strategies targeting key external stakeholders (prospective students alumni donors healthcare partners government agencies and community organizations). Design and support impactful campaigns and events to strengthen industry and community visibility.

  • Serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson. Build strong relationships with local regional and international media. Draft press releases and prepare leadership for media engagements.

  • Oversee digital presence and content generation across website social media newsletters and multimedia. Drive storytelling that highlights student success faculty expertise and research impact. Use analytics to measure and improve engagement.

  • Lead internal communications among faculty staff and students. Coordinate announcement distribution and internal newsletters to foster engagement and information sharing.

  • Develop and maintain crisis communication plans and protocols. Provide timely accurate messaging during emergencies or sensitive situations.

  • Mentor and develop the communications and outreach team. Manage budgets agencies and vendors. Establish performance metrics and report outcomes to senior management. Lead cross-functional projects with various academic and corporate units.

  • Deliver annual communications plans aligned with strategic objectives. Monitor key metrics such as brand reputation stakeholder satisfaction event attendance media engagement and budget adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Marketing Journalism or related discipline. Masters degree is preferred.

  • 8 to12 years of progressive experience in communications public affairs or outreach preferably within higher education public sector or complex institutions.

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement public-facing initiatives and building strong partnerships across academia industry government and the community.

  • Strong expertise in media relations strategic storytelling brand management and crisis communications.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking leadership and people management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

  • Creative and digitally savvy with excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in social media and analytics.
