The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSFs overall performance. The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the companys successes ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller Revenue Management Strategic Sourcing Tax Treasury and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSFs financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSFs economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.

This is a full-timepositionlocated in Fort Worth TX. For certain positions including this one employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance which requires flexibility for when life happens is important and respected.

Travel is minimal less than 10%.

This position will have budgeting forecasting and planning responsibility for budget areas supporting Transportationoperations across the BNSF network with a strong focus on Business Partnering and creating value for each area served.

Key responsibilities may include:

Developmentof processes models and reports to accurately monitor and forecast expenses for assigned divisions
Performingbalance sheet accruals analysis support metric reporting and other projects relative to informational needs of business partners utilizing various tools
Leading/facilitatingweekly and monthly budget reviews and forecasts with assigned transportation divisions
Assistingin the development of performance measures strategic initiatives and annual plans
Analyzingcomplex data to understand operational trends and the corresponding financial impact and make appropriate recommendations to team leaders and business partners to drive to the lowest cost possible

Daily workis conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Able to work now and in the future without BNSFs assistance (whether monetary through sponsorship or otherwise) in obtaining maintaining or extending employment authorization (including H-1B STEM OPT/CPT or TN nonimmigrant status).

• Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting Finance or Business related field.

• Minimum of three years of experience in finance/ accounting or comparable industry experience.

• Strong communication skills and ability to challenge/influence business partners with expense leverage concepts.

• Ability to coordinate tasks and make decisions independently.

• Ability to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities.

• Personal computer skills (Office Suite) and ability to effectively use BNSF data systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of work experience in budgets and/or forecasting or comparable industry experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and/or SQL.
• Good understanding of BNSFs responsibility income statement and forecast process
• Working knowledge of financial statements and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
