DescriptionCollins is looking for a motivated self-starter to join our Denver Colorado team as an entry level Engineer- working in bridge and ancillary structural inspection. The Engineer performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities requiring the application of standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs inspection/fieldwork of bridges and transportation structures that does not require previous experience.
- Reviews and interprets plans and design drawings.
- Documents findings and assists in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
- Supports the development of recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
- Prepares design computations and quantity estimates.
- Collaborates with senior engineers/technicians on inspections.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare project deliverables.
- Engages in limited travel for on-site inspections as required.
- Is active in technical societies.
- Is able to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Communicates effectively with engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
- Participates in training programs to enhance inspection skills.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university plus appropriate continuing education.
- 0-4 years of experience.
- Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year.
