This work includes finding missing loved ones re-establishing contact exchanging family news and clarifying the fate of the opportunityRFL Hotline Volunteers will staff a national hotline responding to calls from both existing clients and members of the public. They will assess callers for eligibility for the RFL service and provideappropriate referralsto other services or agencies as RFL service is part of the Protection Program which includes the Immigration Detention Monitoring Program (IDMP). Volunteers staffing the RFL Hotline will alsobe responsible forfielding calls and email enquiries relating to immigration detention in Australia. This includes enquiries from or about individuals who may currently be detained as well as from organisations and members of the impactRFL Hotline Volunteers provide a vital first point of contact for people searching for missing family members. Through compassionate and informed support volunteers help individuals begin the process of restoring family links by assessing eligibility offering guidance and connecting callers with the services they requirementsFor this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check which will be organised through Red Cross. You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and provide details for two professional references (these could be from a prior workplace or volunteer role).The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.
