Program Descriptions
The Regional Competitive Training Centre (RTC) is a 12-week regional program that combines training team training and competition and is divided into two phases. The first runs from October to December and the second from February until May. After 4 weeks of intense training players are divided into squads based on team dynamics and positional requirements. Key skills are taught and integrated into drills and scrimmages to prepare for game play later on.
Each squad has their own head coach and assistant coach. These squads practice together and compete against each General Manager oversees the entire centre.
Job Summary:
The RTC General Manager is responsible for the smooth operations of a Regional Training Centre. This includes planning practices coaching athletes mentoring coaches planning and monitoring internal competition as well as administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Design an athlete development plan based on the level of athletes.
- Ensure that each practice is planned based on the development plan.
- Attend practices/competition to coach athletes.
- Attend practices/competition to mentor coaches.
- Manage internal competition schedule and results as well as events.
- Manage coach communication attendance and timesheets.
- Communicate with athletes and parents.
Essential Qualifications
Experience & Education:
- NCCP Certified Development Coach certificationOR 4 years of coaching experience at any level
- 1 year of mentoring/training coaches
- Experience communication with athletes coaches and interacting with parents
Knowledge & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of volleyball technical and tactical concepts (skills techniques rules game play etc.)
- Knowledge of official competition rules & protocols
- Effective planning
- Ability to lead and manage a team
Competencies & Skills:
- Leadership and Mentorship
- Collaboration
- Inclusivity
- Communication Skills
- Ability to use and/or learn communication and timesheet software
Assets:
- NCCP Advanced Development Coach certification
- Bilingual (English/French)
