POSITION SUMMARY The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Resident (APRN) functions as a member of the Psychiatry team and applies related skills acquired through their training to the treatment of Wheelers patient population. The selected candidates will receive continuous mentorship while providing patients with direct clinical care and engage in formal weekly educational didactics grand rounds with CME accreditation quality improvement projects and receive certification and training in new and alternative modalities of treatment including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Esketamine Therapy. Wheeler residents will leave our residency program with enhanced clinical skills and tools to make a lasting impact on community : $82000Learn more about our residency program hereEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Master of Science in Nursing and board-certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center are (s) Required: Licensed Registered Nurse and licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Active DEA controlled substance registration and an active Connecticut controlled substance registration. Develops and documents clear clinical formulations in a timely manner. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and effective modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program knowledge of internal and external levels of care referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner. Communicates in a positive effective manner with client family and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings didactics and direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting all client related information in compliance with agency and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g. homes schools hospitals institutions other community locations) as defined by the in a professional positive and effective manner with all clients families and collaborating professionals.
