General Description:
The Interim ELE Enrollment and Assessment Specialist is primarily responsible for all tasks and responsibilities pertaining to the enrollment and assessment procedures for active and former English learners including initial identification monitoring reclassification and state-mandated assessments from February through June 2026.

effectively and successfully serve as the ELE Enrollment and Assessment Specialist with the
Public Schools of Brookline.
- Bachelors Degree in education
- Valid MA Educator License
- Experience using the ASPEN Student Management System
- Qualified ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Administrator
- Trained WIDA Screener Administrator
- Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Expertise in creating and maintaining spreadsheets
- Knowledge of participation considerations and regulations on state standardized assessments
- Flexibility and ability to work across schools and grade spans
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate electronic records
- Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to English learners
- Experience collecting and analyzing data
- Valid drivers license
Essential Job Duties:
Enrollment
- Maintain systems and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations that pertain to the enrollment of English learners
- Maintain program database of all English learners (ELs) and former English learners(FELs)
- Manage all EL and FEL information in the districts student management system (Aspen)
- Prepare submit and verify enrollment reports for the district and state
- Facilitate the triannual distribution and collection of enrollment summary forms
- Manage all student enrollment paperwork including but not limited to Program Opt-Out Forms Student Progress Review Forms Reclassification Forms and Annual Parent Notification Letters
- Complete biannual FEL reports
- Facilitate annual student record review
- Assist ELE Program Director with all assessment-related workshops for staff and parents
Assessment
- Coordinate and oversee all initial language proficiency assessments and procedures for eligible students
- Organize and supervise trained test administrators in the district
- Administers language proficiency assessments to identify the English needs of students when they are placed into the ELL program
- Process all required initial language proficiency assessment paperwork and accompanying procedures
- Communicate with parents/guardians about student placement decisions
- Collaborate with school staff to coordinate all state and federal assessments for English learners
- Support the administration and proctoring of state and federal assessments for English learners (may require travel to schools)
- Prepare participation lists for all state and federal assessments
- Coordinate and distribute MCAS-approved resources for EL/FEL students (i.e. dictionaries glossaries vocabulary sheets)
- Provide guidance to the staff including teachers support personnel and administrators regarding the assessment of English learners
- Prepare submit and verify assessments reports for the district and state
- Assist ELE Program Director with all assessment-related workshops for staff and parents
General
- Assist in the evaluation of ELE program effectiveness
- Interact with and understand families in ways that create and nurture a climate of care respect support and high expectations
- Maintain professional competence through in-service activities provided by thedistrict/state and/or self-selected professional growth activities
- Respect the confidential nature of student records and reports
- Comply with all state and federal requirements applicable to English learners
- Perform other duties as directed by district and program administration

- Work is performed in both office and school environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations (must possess valid drivers license)
- Ability to operate a computer printer telephone copier facsimile machine and all other standard office equipment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds
- Sufficient mobility to navigate within district and school buildings
