The Opportunity

A progressive cloud-focused accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to support its continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients taking ownership of a portfolio and playing a key role in mentoring junior team members.

The firm works with ambitious growing businesses and prides itself on delivering proactive commercial advice rather than purely compliance-based services.

The Role

As a Senior Accountant you will take responsibility for a varied client portfolio ensuring high-quality service delivery while acting as a key point of contact for clients. Youll work closely with the leadership team contribute to advisory work and help drive best practice across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients including limited companies sole traders and partnerships

• Preparation and review of statutory accounts and management accounts

• Overseeing corporation tax personal tax and VAT compliance

• Acting as the main point of contact for client queries and relationship management

• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing guidance

• Supporting and mentoring semi-senior and junior accountants

• Contributing to advisory projects and financial planning support

• Driving process improvements and best practice within the firm

About You

• ACCA / ACA qualified (or qualified by experience)

• Strong background working within an accountancy practice

• Confident managing a client portfolio independently

• Excellent technical knowledge of accounts and tax compliance

• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff

• Comfortable using cloud accounting software (Xero experience preferred)

• Strong communication skills and a proactive commercial mindset
