Senior Cyber Claims Examiner
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced professional to manage complex cyber technology and data breach claims. This role involves handling high-exposure losses conducting coverage analysis and collaborating with insureds brokers counsel and internal stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of complex and high-severity cyber claims from initial notice through resolution
- Analyze policy coverage exclusions endorsements and applicable reinsurance provisions
- Investigate and evaluate losses involving data breaches ransomware business interruption privacy liability and regulatory actions
- Coordinate with insureds brokers breach response vendors forensic firms and outside counsel
- Set and manage reserves in accordance with company guidelines and authority
- Draft detailed coverage positions reservation of rights letters and claim summaries
- Participate in mediations negotiations and settlement discussions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements internal controls and best practices
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior examiners as applicable
- Collaborate with underwriting actuarial and legal teams on emerging cyber trends and loss drivers
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of claims handling experience with significant focus on cyber technology E&O or professional liability claims
- Prior experience with an insurance carrier or reinsurer strongly preferred
- Advanced understanding of cyber insurance policies coverage issues and loss scenarios
- Proven ability to handle high-dollar and complex claims
- Strong analytical negotiation and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment within authority levels
- Juris Doctor or relevant cyber/privacy certifications (CIPP CISSP etc.) a plus but not required
Compensation Package
- Base salary range: $125000 to $165000 annually
- Annual bonus target
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical dental vision and 401(k)
