Compensation Rate: $15.00/hr

What you get to do:

As a Senior Safety Specialist you will

Assist with developing maintaining and instructing EHS environmental-related training courses for ambassadors at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island.

Participate in EHS inspections focusing on compliance with federal state and local environmental and safety regulations.

Conduct inspections of work areas and ambassadors for compliance audit vehicles and equipment for inspections review training records and chemical inventories and proper storage.

Complete daily weekly and monthly regulatory inspections of the hazardous waste facility collection sites UST/AST oil/grease containers generators and any other potential pollution source

Complete regulatory monthly sampling and reporting

Collect environmental data and enter into excel or other computer software

Assist with the development of EHS projects.

Participate in EHS inspections throughout the park to ensure that all departments are in compliance with company local state and federal environmental regulations.

Develop corrective action plans and ensures completion

Attend department meetings and general EHS sensitive meetings

Conduct work required to maintain the hazardous waste facility and satellite accumulation sites

Provide exceptional professional guest service in a team environment.

Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors Vendors and our Guests.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What it takes to succeed:

Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety Risk Management or a related field preferred

2 years of experience in EHS or a related field preferred

Must be certified as a CPR/First Aid/AED trainer or willing to become certified.

Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License

Competent person certifications preferred

Theme park experience preferred

Ability to meet company driving guidelines.

Ability to communicate effectively.

What else is important:

Must be able to lift push pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights if needed

Perform the following physical activities: kneeling squatting bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead reach overhead simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes dust odors and cold/heat temperature extremes Perform cleaning duties including use of cleaning chemicals

Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need to include opening mid- and closing shifts nights weekends and holidays

Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
