Compensation Rate: $15.00/hr
What you get to do:
As a Senior Safety Specialist you will
- Assist with developing maintaining and instructing EHS related training courses forambassadors at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island.
- Participate in EHS inspections focusing on compliance with federal state and localenvironmental and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections of work areas and ambassadors for compliance audit vehicles andequipment for inspections review training records and chemical inventories and properstorage.
- Complete daily weekly and monthly regulatory inspections of the hazardous waste facilitycollection sites UST/AST oil/grease containers generators and any other potential pollutionsource
- Complete regulatory monthly sampling and reporting
- Collect environmental data and enter into excel or other computer software
- Must be able conduct all EHS classroom training sessions in compliance with OSHAstandards and local state and federal environmental standards
- Develop training calendar
- Assist with the development of EHS projects.
- Participate in EHS inspections throughout the park to ensure that all departments are incompliance with company local state and federal environmental regulations.
- Develop corrective action plans and ensures completion
- Attend department meetings and general EHS sensitive meetings
- Conduct work required to maintain the hazardous waste facility and satellite accumulationsites
- Provide exceptional professional guest service in a team environment.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors Vendors and our Guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes to succeed:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety Risk Management or a related fieldpreferred
- 2 years of experience in EHS or a related field preferred
- Must be certified as a CPR/First Aid/AED trainer or willing to become certified.
- Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License
- Competent person certifications preferred
- Theme park experience preferred
- Ability to meet company driving guidelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
What else is important:
- Must be able to lift push pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift andclimb/ascend heights if needed
- Perform the following physical activities: kneeling squatting bend floor-to waist/waist-tooverhead reach overhead simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use oftools/keyboard/writing)
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather to include extreme heat.
- Position may be exposed to fumes dust odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
- Perform cleaning duties including use of cleaning chemicals
- Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need to include opening mid- and closingshifts nights weekends and holidays
- Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and careerdevelopment opportunities
