Under the general direction of the Director the Student Financial Services Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Disbursements University Collections and Federal Trust Student Aid Accounting departments. The position also oversees key service areas as needed including Student Account Services and Cashiering departments. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity accuracy and efficiency of all student financial operations while fostering compliance with federal state and university addition this role leads the enhancement integration and implementation of financial systems and technologies to streamline processes improve service delivery and support the universitys fiscal and student success goals.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster cooperative working relationships and ensure departmental and Student Financial Services success. They will demonstrate expertise in customer service principles providing guidance and training to staff for high-quality service to students faculty and staff. This individual will effectively manage the workload of Disbursements University Collections and Federal Trust Student Aid Accounting while overseeing departmental personnel and integrating diverse demands. A thorough knowledge of state and federal financial aid regulations financial record-keeping methods and generally accepted accounting principles is essential along with advanced skills in analyzing complex issues related to automated financial systems and PC software. The candidate will excel in data evaluation and interpretation to develop sound recommendations and will have the ability to assess operational needs and create procedures that meet departmental state and federal requirements.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
Equivalent to a bachelors degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of related experience required (progressively responsible supervisory experience in fiscal management in a medium or large size accounting or higher education organization working in a highly automated financial operation).
Experience in higher education PeopleSoft ERP and Transact Campus Payments systems is preferred.
Experience in higher education with a financial aid background is strongly preferred.
