Position overview:

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will lead the plant engineering expansion in accordance with the customer milestones and the allocated budgets. You will also have to keep the plant performance improvement in the focus by applying the best practices with high quality level and maintain the process standardization/innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the program milestone by setting up the manufacturing timing plan defining the budget preparing the product data ordering the equipment ensuring the process set up & manufacturing data (Work instruction & method) are in place.
  • Key contact in the daily meetings with LU Program manager & Commercial for program follow up issues highlight & problem solving
  • Lead cross functional team: engineering quality production & Logistics
  • Control Manufacturing Tools and Equipment inventories and capex spendings best utilizing Lear assets.
  • On time launch of new projects and conduct Plants Launch Readiness Reviews
  • Build a team of A players who get results in their role and personify the Lear leadership model.
  • Support / train plant engineers improving existing manufacturing systems
  • Sustain one global Continuous Improvement strategy objectives and supporting organizational structure
  • Ensure that manufacturing activities related to MY changes are per manufacturing timing.
  • Report the program progress risk & highlights to get management support
  • Leading the risk assessment activity & PFMEA reviews for new MYs & new launches

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Engineering degree
  • Excellent organizational skills a proven record in being able to plan and track project activities.
  • Automotive experience is needed
  • At least 5 years proven experience in a similar position
  • Leadership & team management skills: Experience leading and driving a team (direct reports and cross functional)
  • High project management skills
  • Autonomous & self-starter
  • Proficiency in both English & French languages spoken and written
