Position Summary
This Building Security position is committed to providing world class service for all Donald L. Tucker Civic Center arena events. The Building Security position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security for all events. Special security assignments may be available during non-event days/nights. The security team is a provider of direct service to our guests and must exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $15.50

About the Venue
The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center features a 12500-seat arena 34 luxury suites 476 club seats over 54000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space and an arena view restaurant the Spotlight Grille. The arena is home to Florida State Mens and Womens basketball and is known for its electric atmosphere and fierce home court advantage. Not only a music and sports venue the arena also is frequently used for trade shows large catered functions receptions religious services and classes.
Responsibilities
- Secures building by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance cameras; inspecting building equipment and access points
- Prevents losses and damages by reporting irregularities in cooler temperatures and HVAC equipment
- Respond to requests for assistance from DLTCC staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire medical emergencies etc.)
- Performs all event and non-event security duties as assigned
- Conducts building safety inspections (Normally pre-event and post event safety checks)
- Protects Arena equipment materials and structures throughout the work schedule.
- Provides regular security functions within the Arena and related areas prior to during and after all events.
- Responsible for clean neat appearance with complete DLTCC Security Uniform.
- Receives records and returns all lost and found items according to established team procedures.
- May be asked to work live events; assist with securing specific positions and rooms check for appropriate identification escort guests and perform other event related activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Events Event Managers and/or Guest Service Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Prior security experience preferred but not required.
- Able to work overnight hours as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- Ability to work beyond traditional business hours including nights weekends and select holidays is required
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Must have earned or have the ability to earn valid CPR certification
- Must demonstrate a positive professional and customer-focused attitude
