Senior Design Engineer Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI)
Tier 1 Automotive Greenville South Carolina (On-Site)

This is a hands-on high-impact design position where your GDI injector expertise directly drives new product launches for OEM and performance applications.

What Youll Own
End-to-end GDI fuel injector design & development (concept launch)
Design Validation (DV) strategy execution and reporting
PPAP readiness and collaboration with Quality & Manufacturing
Spray & flow testing correlation (Baton Loccioni OEM methods)
Precision CAD design GD&T and engineering releases
Root cause analysis and corrective action for performance issues
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and smooth production integration
Engineering change management and technical data ownership
This is a true senior contributor role with visibility and influencenot a back-office design seat.
What Were Looking For (Non-Negotiable)
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
5 years of direct GDI fuel injector design experience
Strong background in DV PPAP APQP DFMEA / PFMEA
Proficiency in CATIA NX or SolidWorks
Experience with tight-tolerance precision-machined components
Comfortable working cross-functionally and owning technical outcomes
Ideal Backgrounds
Engineers from:
Fuel systems or engine component Tier 1 suppliers
Powertrain injector or combustion-focused environments
High-performance or motorsport engineering teams
If youve touched injector internals spray dynamics flow behavior or combustion interfaces youre highly relevant.
