Job Skills / Requirements

Guardteck Security is seeking professional friendly and detail-oriented Control / Dispatch Officers to join a high-profile security team based in Vancouver. This role is ideal for individuals with strong situational awareness excellent communication skills and experience working in security operations or monitoring environments.

The Control / Dispatch Officer plays a critical role in supporting site operations by monitoring multiple security systems coordinating responses and ensuring timely communication between security personnel supervisors and external emergency services. Officers work from an advanced on-site security office and are responsible for maintaining accurate records while responding to incidents in a calm professional manner.


Position Duties:

  • Monitor and operate security and life-safety systems including but not limited to access control systems CCTV and fire panels / fire monitoring systems
  • Receive assess and document security-related notifications incidents and issues from various departments
  • Relay incident details and operational updates to appropriate internal teams and stakeholders
  • Dispatch security officers to investigate alarms respond to incidents and follow established escalation procedures while coordinating with Supervisors
  • Notify emergency services when required and ensure responders have clear and immediate access to the site
  • Monitor system performance and report any deficiencies or malfunctions to the Security Supervisor
  • Track the location status and activities of security officers during assigned shifts
  • Communicate concerns observations and process improvement suggestions to the Supervisory team
  • Maintain accurate documentation incident reports and data entry in required systems
  • Respond to emails and telephone calls in a professional timely and customer-focused manner
  • Perform other duties as required to support overall security operations


Skills & Qualification Requirements:

  • Valid BC Security License
  • Security Monitoring Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a security operations center dispatch role monitoring desk or similar environment within executive corporate or high-profile settings
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to accurately capture document and relay information
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to multitask assess situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Maintains a calm professional and composed demeanor at all times particularly during emergency situations
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently as well as within a team-based environment
  • Computer Literacy: Intermediate proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Word Excel and Teams

Certification Requirements (All)

British Columbia Security License
